God's Presence
“God’s Presence”
This December, our focus is on experiencing God more deeply than ever, leading to a genuine life transformation. Many people can pray, but they are not praying people.
Week1: Prioritizing to Know God
- The importance of encountering God in worship, valuing an environment where hearts are ignited by His presence. Exodus 33:15
- Prioritize making disciples, not just attenders, highlighting Jesus' priority.
- Understanding God's presence and guidance in our lives, see examples from Hebrews 11
- Embrace your identity as children of God, rather than fearing the King's anger or confusion.
- The enemy distorts believers' God concepts, making them believe God is angry and judgmental instead of loving, forgiving, and full of mercy.
PRAYER POINTS
· Pray that we prioritize knowing Him by meeting Him in a place of worship, to experience who He is, and to allow Him to transform us.
· Pray to have a desire to know Him and to be known by Him.
· Pray to experience God in a tangible manner, changing our perspective and giving us the motivation and encouragement to fulfill our mandate by making disciples of nations.
· Pray that we walk by faith like the men and women of old, that we surrender our own will and desire and depend on His guidance and direction.
· To know God means you know who you are in Him—you know your destiny. Pray that you have a revelation of how God sees you and that you walk in His perspective of you, to walk fearlessly and courageously in that destiny.
· Declare and silence the enemy’s voice to no longer cause confusion or warp who God really is. He is merciful, full of loving kindness, and has a gracious and forgiving heart.
Week2: His presence, His glory, is His weapon
- Every one of us needs to have a personal encounter with God and get a fresh revelation of who HE is.
- “And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.” 2 Thessalonians 2:8, NKJV
- Understand that . . . Let the weak say, “I AM strong.” Joel 3:10b, NKJV
That’s NOT A STATEMENT — That’s A NAME - The importance of understanding that Satan is not God's equal. He's a created being — he's an imposter who plays God.
- Now when He said to them, "I AM He," they drew back and fell to the ground. John 18:6, NKJV
PRAYER POINTS
· The name, Immanuel, means “God’s presence with us.” This name signifiesHis personal presence and a promised fulfilled through the life of Jesus. May our heart’s desire be to have an individualized and personal encounter withHim, priming us to receive an understanding and revelation of who God really is.
· May we be like Moses who told God, “If you don’t personally go with us, don’t make us leave this place.” Exodus 33:15. Pray that we will not make a decision or take a step without God personally being with and going with us
· Pray that we are aware, are conscious, notice, perceive, recognize, understand, and appreciate God’s existence within and around us. When you spend time with Him, you begin to reflect His presence even more. In Exodus 34:30,35, Moses’ face was shining of God’s glory, so radiant, due to the supernatural result of speaking and spending time with God.
· Pray to be a person of God’s presence, someone who spends time with Him and then releases the magnificence and radiance of His presence to the world around you.
· God’s name is “I AM WHO I AM”, not “I was” or “I might be”. When Jesus declared, “I AM” and the officers fell down in John 18:6, He was declaring his divine identity as God and a supernatural power was released that demonstrated His control over His enemies and situations. Pray to know His true nature and power—His name is His character.
Week3: Encounter with God and Engage with Sinners
- ” . . . but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.” Daniel 11:32b
- Jesus and His Father are one. Out of that relationship Jesus reached out to the people and was accused of being a friend of sinners and a glutton.
- The importance of us understanding that as a result of our encounter with God, HE is going to pour us out on the dry and thirsty land, to the destitute places that never got any kind of life.
- You are not to look for a revival; you are the revival.
- Our encounter with God should transform us from the inside out.
PRAYER POINTS
· You, as a follower of Christ, bear His presence wherever you go. You are most needed outside the walls of the church. Pray that individuals will be drawn to you because of the light of Jesus in you so that you can share theGood News to them.
· Pray to become spiritually mature, to know God in such a way that you can display strength and perform remarkable feats, accomplish great achievements, and do extraordinary deeds for His glory.
· Pray to be changed, altered, and be transformed in His presence. Pray to inwardly change, that there will be a shift beginning with the renewal of the mind and becoming empowered by the Holy Spirt. Pray to have new attitudes, new behaviors, and obtain a deeper knowledge of God, changing us into the image of Christ so that the world is drawn to us.
· Pray to comprehend that you are the revival that the world is waiting for. Stop waiting for something to happen, it’s not coming from an external movement to transform things. Pray to recognize that you are the catalyst who will spark renewal in others and make things happen.
Week4: God’s Presence and Divine Assignment
- The importance of encountering God; Peter's transformation and the church's role in society.
- Jesus' revelation to Peter changed his identity and mission, likening it to the church's destiny.
- The importance of simple obedience and how it captures God's attention and heart.
- The church to be both heavenly and practical, balancing spiritual and practical efforts.
- Peter's journey from being a fisherman to a fisher of men, emphasizing the importance of identity and revelation.
PRAYER POINTS
· We were made to commune withHim, to know His heart. We were created to worship Him, to abide in His presence. Understand the link between His presence and our divine assignments. Commune with God and talk to Him more (pray) in order to understand our divine assignments.
· Without an encounter with God, we cannot see or understand our purpose. Knowing God requires a personal and spiritual experience that emphasizes the importance of relationship over knowledge. Pray to receive revelations and insights of who we are in Christ and what we are to do through consistent time spent with God.
· Pray that CBC integrates the spiritual focus with practical living, to blend spiritual insights with practical actions.
· God will use you with the gifts and talents you were born with, it’s what makes you distinct from anyone else, andHe will add to it when you serve Him faithfully. You will have a unique calling that only you can fulfill. Pray to be good stewards of your gifts, to developthe abilities God has given instead of hiding them out of fear. Matthew25:14-30
