Finding Purpose In Transition

The Apostle Paul writes from prison in Ephesians 3, not complaining about his circumstances but celebrating a mystery revealed: that God has always been gathering people into His great redemptive story through Christ.

Before there was your struggle, your success, your confusion, or your transition, there was already an eternal purpose established in Jesus. And sometimes God allows seasons of breaking—not to destroy us—but to remove the old motives, old fears, and old identities so resurrection life can emerge.

Week 1: Finding Purpose Beyond Self

· The eternal purpose of God is crucial to understanding one's purpose in the kingdom of God, read Acts 10 and Acts 17.

· Blessing is measured by communion with the living God and resonance with the eternal purpose of God.

· Many people enter transition because what once worked no longer works. God often allows discomfort because transformation requires new vision. Read Ephesians3:11, Proverbs 3:5–6

· Peter’s transformation started where his confidence ended. Your greatest transition may begin where your expertise fails. Read Luke 5:1-11

· The breaking is not the end of your story—it maybe the beginning of your becoming.

· Christ is the compass, and when you follow Him through transition, transformation becomes inevitable.

Prayer Points

· Pray for understanding and clarity to align our prayers with God’s purpose, moving past the "what’s in it for me" prayers, so we can make a shift in our prayer focus to what the Lord has called us to accomplish in this life for His glory.

· Pray that during this season of transition, were main focused and reject the enemy’s lies of condemnation when our old dependencies are no longer working in our lives. As God leads us into the new out of His great love, pray that we trust Him completely, knowing that He is faithful to finish the work He started in our lives. Philippians 1:6 AMPC: “And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day ofJesus Christ [right up to the time of His return], developing [that good work]and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you.”

· Pray that when the Lord highlights where we are relying on our own strength, we yield without struggle or resistance. May we surrender completely so that His will, purpose, and calling are manifested in our lives through His power alone. Zechariah4:5 NKJV “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts.”

· Pray that we daily choose to fix our eyes onJesus, especially when the transition into the new becomes tough and challenging. As we set our minds on things above, may the Holy Spirit comfort and strengthen us. When our focus remains on Him, the things of this earth will grow dim, giving us clear vision for His purpose and calling in our lives.

Week 2: Inner Journey of Purpose

· God often breaks what you built so He can reveal who you are becoming. Read Isaiah43:19 , Jeremiah 1:5, 9-10

· God often uses disruption to move us from who we were into who we are becoming. Read Jeremiah29:7

· Your greatest impact may come from what God breaks, not what you protect. Get rid of Judas’ attitude. Read John 12:1-7

· The transformative journey is a process of severance, threshold crossing, and moving into newness.

· Read Mark14:3-9. The alabaster box had to be broken for the fragrance to fill the room, symbolizing the necessity of breaking for spiritual growth.

· The importance of breaking the outward self to reveal the inward fragrance.

Prayer Points

· Pray that through the breaking and rebuilding, we gain assurance and confidence that when the Lord speaks into our lives, He is bringing us into the greatest version of who we will become. Ephesians 2:10 NLT: “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”

· Pray that as we are realigned with His will and purpose, we fulfill our true reason for being here on earth: to do the will of the Father.

· Pray that every trial draws us nearer to Jesus, breaking self-preservation and aligning us with the mind of Christ that honors the Father’s love. Anchored in His ultimate sacrifice on the cross that saved us from destruction, may our hearts be transformed from the inside out, fueling all we do through a fresh revelation of His love.

· Pray for the grace to break open our alabaster box in complete worship and surrender. As the Lord refines and renews our hearts, pray that our lives carry a sweet fragrance that reveals His love and presence to everyone we meet.

· Pray that we allow the Holy Spirit to use our trials to expose and shatter the outward shell of pride, self-reliance, and fleshly effort that we have grown so accustomed to. 1 Corinthians 2:10 NLT: “But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets.”

· Pray that as God breaks down every hidden barrier in our lives, the sweet fragrance of Jesus living inside us overflows from within us. May our daily lives carry His undeniable presence, stirring a hunger in the hearts of everyone we encounter to pursue, see, and know Him personally.

Week 3: The Mindset Shift That Changes Everything

· Transformation is cross-shaped, involving death, burial, and resurrection.

· The renewal of the mind is an ongoing journey, requiring continuous transformation into God's likeness.

· Transformation must be embodied and cannot be merely claimed without concrete practices of self-denial and service. Read Luke 9:23

· The importance of the new creation in Christ. Read 2 Corinthians 5:16-17, Galatians 2:19-20, Romans 12:1-2

· Renewal is more than positive thinking, it is metamorphosis: identity changes, desires change, habits change. Read Ephesians 4:20–24

·God didn’t call you to think better only—Hecalled you to become new.

Prayer points

· Pray that the transformation journey, though it stretches us in every direction, will completely bring to death every fleshly mindset contrary to the Spirit. As we die to self, may the supernatural strength of the Lord deliver us and raise us up with Jesus, so we live no longer by our own strength, but in the power of His might. Philippians 1:21 NLT: “For to me, living means living for Christ, and dying is even better.”

· Pray for the daily discipline to anchor our minds in God's Word, which is spirit and life. As the Scripture renews and cleanses our hearts, pray that we experience His supernatural strength and walk worthy of our high calling in Christ, who has delivered us from death into life. Romans 12:2: NKJV: “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

· Pray that as we daily renew our minds with the Word, our habits and old ways of living will be completely transformed. May this inward renewal produce visible external change for everyone to see—filling us with greater patience, joy, and love that overflows to bless and nourish those around us. Philippians 4:8 NLT:“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”

· Pray that we don't settle for merely thinking better, but that we actively seek the Holy Spirit's guidance for the new things God has in store for us. May we walk, fully aligned with the fresh purposes He is unfolding in our lives each day.

Week 4: The Process of Finding Purpose

· The importance of cooperation with the HolySpirit in the transformation process. (the phrase: “… the Holy Spirit says …” is used many times in the book of Acts)

· The struggle is often wanting quick change whileGod works through process.

· Beware with the current culture's misunderstanding of grace: grace does not give a pass for sin but requires repentance. Grace doesn’t remove the cross—it gives you power to carry it.

· If culture shapes your mind, culture will shape your future. The need to set one's mind on things above and to put to death earthly desires. Read Colossians 3:1-4, Romans 6:4

· Urge the removal of anger, wrath, and other ungodly behaviors. Read Colossians3:5-10

· Personal purpose must align with the eternal purpose of God.

Prayer points

· Pray that the Holy Spirit leads and protects us as we live in a world hostile to our faith. Pray that we stay deeply rooted in the word every single day, letting God's Word calibrate our thoughts, steady our hearts, and guide our path.

· Pray that we resist the instant, quick-fix mindset of this world. As God presses and prunes our lives, pray that we yield to His process so the sweetness of Christ flows outward. May we never settle for merely skimming God’s Word, but instead meditate on Scripture so deeply that it penetrates our spirits and brings true transformation from the inside out and produces great testimony for His glory. John 15:2 NKJV: “Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.”

· Pray that we continually set our minds on things above, shielding us from a culture that seeks to shape us. As we fix our focus on the things of the Kingdom, may our minds remain guarded and protected, refusing to let the world press us into its mold. Colossians 3:1 NKJV: “If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand ofGod.”

· Pray that we maintain a steady pace, walking by the guidance of theSpirit of the Lord who lives in us, and refusing to be led by the flesh and thecarnal mind. Pray that daily we actively put on the new man and the garment ofrighteousness, continually renewed in truth and fully conforming to the imageof Christ, empowering us to fulfill His divine purpose for us.
