Enlarging Your Capacity

Capacity is the ability to understand, process, contain, produce or complete. It is the mental power to grasp or take in knowledge, information, or experiences. It also refers to the maximum amount that something can contain and the amount that someone or something can produce. It can also mean the ability or power to do, understand, or experience something, or the formal role or function a person holds.God's heart is to anoint us to advance. His anointing rests on us to advance His glory throughout the world—but the measure of what flows through us depends on the capacity of the heart that carries it.

Week 1: Anointed to Advance

Read 1 Samuel 17:40-54

What makes the enemy’s power greater is that he eats flesh (dust is where you and I came from). No flesh can glory in God’s presence.

If you look at the work of the flesh in Galatians 5, you are either motivated and breathed on by the Spirit or you are motivated and breathed upon by a demonic spirit (like Saul).

David was not anointed to be a giant killer; he was anointed to glorify God’s name.

David chose to use a stick (rod, staff). Isaiah 11:1 “There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots”. Jesus is called, “SON OF DAVID.”

PRAYER POINTS

David experienced the Lord in the hidden places, in the place of obscurity where nobody watched, but that was where God enlarged his capacity. Pray to have a fresh new encounter with the Holy Spirit and for Him to fill your heart and mouth with God’s words. May you be able to speak over His words into every challenge, circumstance, or battle that you need to go through, in order to shift the atmosphere around you, release miracles, and experience breakthrough.

Pray for alignment to the Father’s heart and to allow Him to mold your heart so that you have the capacity to carry His anointing towards the purposes He has originated in your lives and to advance His kingdom.

David did not fight Goliath with human strength or Saul's armor, instead he relied on God. Pray that you place your trust securely in God alone, and not rely on your own strength but rely on the Lord. “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.” Psalm 118:8-9

Capacity comes through process and your response in the process is what is going to enlarge you. Despite being chosen by God, David did not immediately become a giant killer or a king, instead, he spent years in the wilderness and that experience became his “preparation" period.

Pray for an obedient and willing heart for you to go through the process or preparation period, to be stretched out beyond your perceived limitations, and trust that God knows what He is doing.

Pray for you to be empowered by the Holy Spirit, to have courage to follow His instructions, to get out of your comfort zone and familiarity, all in obedience, and to respond to God’s calling in your life just as David did – Acts 13:22 “I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.”

Week 2: Miracle Hill

Capacity is the maximum power to contain or produce something, while anointing is received through impartation.

The story of Elijah and the widow in 2 Kings 4:1-7 illustrates the importance of enlarging capacity (jar, vessel).

The four levels of capacity are physical, mental, spiritual, and productive.

Physical capacity deals with depth and the ability to contain something.

The importance of enlarging mental capacity is in managing stress and tasks without quitting.

Understand that spiritual capacity involves the ability to receive and understand God's will.

Productive capacity deals with the ability to produce results.

PRAYER POINTS

God seeks your brokenness and your dependence on Him, just like the widow when she came to Elijah in her desperation. Pray for Holy Spirit to help you come to a place of absolute surrender of your brokenness, fear, anxiety, struggles, weaknesses, and concerns to God. There is a fresh grace and a new beginning for all those who come to Jesus with a contrite spirit(Isaiah 57:15).

The vessel determines the flow. When there are no more vessels to fill, the oil stops flowing. When we have no capacity to contain God’s anointing, it will stop flowing. Pray for God to enlarge your heart and allow Him to cleanse your vessel from any mixture that is not from Him, and to prepare you for a fresh and new anointing.

The mind is the battleground where spiritual warfare takes place. Ask Holy Spirit to shift our perspective and pray to cast down and destroy every mindset, ideas, negativity, pride that rises against the truth of God, and to bring every one of our thoughts into the captivity to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5).

Pray for renewal of mindsets and to set our minds on things that are above (Colossians 3:2). “We walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7) and that whatever giants we are facing in our lives, we will not become paralyzed or be overcome with fear.

Pray for Holy Spirit to give you the understanding that you are enabled to know, perceive God’s will, and walk in alignment with His word and instructions.

Allow God to stretch and shape you for His plans and ask Holy Spirit to guide, strengthen you in the stretching, and enable you to walk through the process until completion.

Week 3: Overcoming Tribulations

The importance of enlarging personal capacity. “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” (Ephesians 3:20 NKJV)

Capacity is enlarged through victorious experiences during hardships and crisis. The story of Paul and Barnabas confirming the disciples and exalting them to continue in the faith displays the need to go through much tribulation.

Capacity does not come through prayer or fasting but through victorious experiences during hardship.

The importance of maintaining faith and a joyful attitude during the process of capacity enlargement, even when it is difficult.

PRAYER POINTS

Whatever battle, storms, or challenges you are going through, declare that God is able to do immeasurably more than all you ask or think, according to His power that is at work within you(Ephesians 3:20).

Declare for restoration and breakthrough in circumstances and situations that God will restore with abundance—double grace!

Pray to overcome discouragement and frustrations that you might have experienced so far due to the setbacks and delays in the fulfillment of your dreams or God’s promises in your life.

A breakthrough is preceded by perseverance through difficulty. Pray for perseverance and strength to hold fast to God’s promises so that you will not give up or lose heart through tribulations, setbacks, or challenges. They may seem impossible to overcome but the Lord your God is the One who goes with you and fights for you against your enemies to give you victory (Deuteronomy 20:4).

Always give thanks to God in every circumstance, even in difficult moments for He has given us victory through Jesus Christ and we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us (1 Corinthians 15:57, Romans 8:37).

Ask Holy Spirit to infuse you with His new perspective, grace, strength, peace, joy, and power, enabling you to see what He wants you to see and hear clearly what He says as He is shifting you into the new season.

Week 4: Endurance and Enlargement

The importance of trusting in God's presence and righteousness, rather than relying on feelings or personal experiences.

Worship as an anchor for the soul. Romans 4:20, giving glory to God, worshipping and bringing sacrifice of praise in the midst of pain and joy.

Job searched for God during a personal storm and found Him in hidden places.

God gives prophetic promises to prepare us for storms that may cause doubt about those promises.

Finding purpose and enduring through worship. Purpose gives endurance to face life's storms.

PRAYER POINTS

Pray for God to empower you with His grace to withstand every testing and process you have to go through, and with His strength to stay tenacious, to have great faith, and never give up so that God can increase your capacity for His purpose.

Pray for a resilient spirit that refuses to give up when you are facing opposition, hardship or setbacks—trusting that God will never fail you and as you do your part, God will surely do His.

Pray for Holy Spirit’s help so that you can trust God's process, His faithfulness, His plans and promises rather than relying on feelings, personal experiences, or your own plans. Believing that challenges you have to go through are meant to test and refine your faith, ultimately producing strength, perseverance, and a more mature character.

Through the storm, Job had a divine encounter with God he had never experienced before as he chose to belief in God’s integrity and character even when it didn’t make sense. Pray for deeper, more understanding of God's power and sovereignty. Pray for discernment and clarity so that you can see things as He sees them.

Our posture in worship is the key for our advancement. Pray for a shifting from worry to worship, to posture yourself in worship and hold fast to God’s promises, His faithfulness and unchanging character, just as Abraham did.

Ask God for a greater capacity that He will use you to be the carrier, the conduit of His love, grace, and glory, and to be His vessel who advances His Kingdom. Ask for a greater capacity to be ready for the harvest.
