The Principle of Increase
Pastor Paul began his sermon series for the month of May: “The Principle of Increase.” Can you imagine if you began to understand wealth creation as a mandate for the marketplace? Read Deuteronomy 8:18 and then read it again but starting several verses back from verse 11. There is a reason why God is granting His people the power to make wealth. We are to know our authentic wealth and value. We are not here to just make a living—we are here to create life! The reason that God blesses us is so that we can become a blessing to others, a blessing to the nations. Pastor Paul concluded his sermon by encouraging us to keep on arising and building. We need to allow Holy Spirit to position us into a place of readiness for the purpose of God in our lives to come to fruition. This month, please encourage each local church to financially plant a Spring Seed.
Week 1: Wealth Creation as a Mandate for the Marketplace
Read Deuteronomy 8:11-18 and do an expository study, verse by verse.
In Matthew 6:33, Jesus is teaching us to seek first the Kingdom and also provided a warning against the love of money.
Learn from Jacob’s journey and the principle of increase: Jacob remained faithful and honorable even when Laban reduced his wages to nothing for 14 years.
Nothing can stop God's plan for fruitfulness and abundance.
Motivate people to plant their Spring Seed.
PRAYER POINTS:
Thanking the Lord for what He has done for us and we are very grateful for His continued hand over our health, wealth, and abundance.
Pray to help us remember that these blessings come from God, not from our own strength.
Pray to remain humble and to not grow complacent.
Pray to seek God’s Kingdom and righteousness above all else.
Pray to not have a love of money.
Pray that God would guide us in obeying His commands, judgments, and statutes as He has instructed us.
Pray that God would grant us discernment and wisdom to discern His will in all areas of our lives.
Pray to remind us to always remember God’s love and faithfulness to us.
Pray to understand that God’s plan for fruitfulness and abundance cannot be stopped.
Week 2: The Connection Between Wealth and God’s Glory
Haggai 2:8 explains the shaking of the heavens and the earth as a metaphor for spiritual and material transformation for prosperity with a purpose.
Understand the biblical perspective on wealth: God equips us with unique gifts to create value in the marketplace.
It is important to know that our gifts are making room for us (Proverbs 18:16).
Jesus and Paul spent a lot of time in the marketplace, making it a platform for the expression of our uniqueness and giftings.
Motivate people to plant their Spring Seed.
PRAYER POINTS:
Pray to acknowledge that the silver and gold and all that we possess belong to God.
Pray to help us trust in God’s provision and generosity.
Pray to align our hearts and minds that all things come from God and should be used for His glory and for the betterment of God’s people.
Pray to teach us to be good stewards of the blessings God has entrusted to us.
Pray to thank God for the unique gifts and talents He has given to us. May they increase, enlarge, and overflow in abundance, as we seek to live our lives in spirit and in truth.
Pray to help us understand our gifts and talents and how they can be used to serve others and glorify His name.
Week 3: The Importance of Learning the Marketplace Language
The church needs to be involved in conversations about spiritual leadership in the marketplace: look at how Joseph and Daniel led as examples.
Understanding the importance of recognizing that we are in the world but not of it and that we need to occupy until Jesus returns (Luke 19:13).
We need to recover creativity, innovation, and a godly work ethic in the marketplace.
Understanding the importance of delivering consistent service with integrity and righteousness.
Embrace change and treat customers with respect, regardless of their background.
Motivate people to plant their Spring Seed.
PRAYER POINTS:
As God has entrusted us with His Word, Holy Spirit, gifts and talents, pray to teach us how to occupy our communities, friends, families, jobs, schools and government to build and advance the Kingdom of God.
Pray to use wisdom and discernment to manage these resources wisely and to find opportunities to serve others faithfully.
Pray to teach us to be faithful servants for God and others.
Pray to recover creativity, innovation, and a godly work ethic in the marketplace.
Pray to be like Daniel: being skillful in all wisdom, discernment, understanding, apt in learning knowledge, and competence (Daniel 1:4).
As God’s servant, pray that we remain diligent in our work, to strive for excellence in everything we do, and to reflect God’s love through our actions.
Week 4: Divine Downloads to Overcome Challenges
Read the story of Laban in the book of Genesis.
Every believer will encounter a Laban at some point, but God uses these challenges for growth.
Understanding the importance of recognizing that Laban’s blessings come from God.
Jacob’s actions increased Laban’s wealth.
Do not just be an employee in your workplace -- be an asset to the company you work at!
Motivate people to plant their Spring Seed.
PRAYER POINTS:
Pray to be an asset wherever you work.
Pray to be able to forgive those who have wronged us, acknowledging our own imperfections, and seeking God’s forgiveness for our own shortcomings.
Pray for the strength to live with integrity and honesty, rejecting deception and pursuing a life that honors God.
Pray for God’s guidance and protection, recognizing that God leads and guides us even in difficult situations.
Pray for unwavering faith and trust in God’s faithfulness, knowing that God will see us through challenging times.
Pray for discernment and understanding of God’s will for our lives, seeking His guidance in all decisions.
Pray for a fresh outpouring of God’s goodness, divine favor, supernatural provisions, divine increase, divine enlargement, and unexpected miracles in every area of our lives and the lives of others.
Pray to remain faithful in planting the Spring Seed and that God will increase and multiply it for us. It is a mandate from God that as He blesses us, we can be a blessing for others and nations to glorify His name.
